If there is a plus side, we did receive clean towels each day and the bed linen was clean. Worse than the shabbiness though was the fact that the rooms are not cleaned! They were not clean to begin with and were not cleaned once during our four night stay. After our first night here, I reported to reception that the toilet seat was broken, expecting (stupidly) that when we got back later in the day it would be fixed or maybe replaced. The shabbiness of the rooms is unbelievable.

The local agents who put tour parties in this low standard of accommodation are not doing the Iranian tourist industry any favours. We stayed here four nights as part of a 15 day tour of Iran. So only 2* but it could so easily get to 4* with a bit of effort.… Night time security was good, locked doors and a night porter. The reception area and the restaurant were fine. Everything worked such as the A/C and there was a good and hot shower. What I found most disappointing about the hotel was that as it had only about 11 rooms it would not have required a major investment to have them all cleaned, decorated and minor repairs done where needed. The fire escape door from the room was locked, but as it was glass I hope it would have been breakable.? The view from the room was almost nothing, a tiny courtyard and just tops of minarets, but this was OK since it was so close to the main square. Wallpaper was peeling off and one of the electrical sockets, near the, potentially wet, kitchenette area was hanging off the wall with live wires exposed. Clean good towels every day and clean bed linen contrasted with a lack of cleanliness of the room.

I was a lucky one in our small group as I had a large room with just two beds (see photo). The one saving grace of this hotel is its location, it is literally just off Emmam Square and away from any traffic.
